Description

1969 is known as the "Summer of love". Uncontested high point of this time was the "Woodstock Music and Art Festival". Short "Woodstock". Artists like Jimmy Hendricks, Joe Cocker, Janice Joplin and The Who entertained the youth over three days.

50 years on the WDR Funkhausorchester and soloists under Enrique Ugarte's lead plays the mega hits of Bob Dylan, David Crosby, Steven Arthur Stills, Tim Hardin in modern symphonic arrangements by Peter Herborn. In addition they also play the hits of the era that were not heard at the Festival, like "Leaving on a jet plane."

Woodstock Symphony is a threefold cross over production: pop-songs of the legendary Woodstock Festival are heard in a new way and dipped in a different light without losing their identity. The body of classical music and soloists of modern Jazz meet each other in a very special way.
