New KDS artist: percussionist Simone Rubino
From 1st December 2016, Konzertdirektion Schmid is pleased to announce the general management of Italian percussionist Simone Rubino.
Following his success as winner of the ARD Music Competition in 2014, at the same time being honored with the Audience Award, in 2016 he won the internationally renowned Credit Suisse Award, during the course of which he performed the Tan Dun concerto at the Lucerne Festival with the Vienna Philharmonic under the baton of Tugan Sokhiev. Following a successful debut at Carnegie Hall in October this year, forthcoming performances include concertos with the Munich Philharmonic under the baton of Gustavo Gimeno, and Maggio Musicale Firenze with Zubin Mehta.
Simone Rubino has performed with orchestras such as hr-Sinfonieorchester Frankfurt, DSO Berlin and Deutsche Radio Philharmonie Saarbrücken. In addition to this, the 23-year-old loves to perform with the baroque ensemble La Chimera, as well as with his own Esegesi percussion quartet, with whom he will be appearing at The Heidelberger Frühling next year.
