NEW KDS ARTIST: PABLO SÁINZ VILLEGAS
Konzertdirektion Schmid announces the management of guitarist Pablo Sáinz Villegas in Europe, Australia and New Zealand.
Pablo Sáinz Villegas is hailed by critics as one of the world’s leading classical guitarists. He is celebrated as a natural ambassador of Spanish culture with performances in more than 30 countries since his auspicious debut with the New York Philharmonic under Rafael Frühbeck de Burgos at Avery Fisher Hall. Born in La Rioja, Spain – the country uniquely and deeply linked to his chosen instrument – Sáinz Villegas is praised for performances as charismatic as they are intimate. With his singing tone and consummate technique, Sáinz Villegas offers interpretations that conjure the passion, playfulness, and drama of his homeland’s rich musical heritage. At the end of last year, Sáinz Villegas released Americano, his debut recording for Harmonia Mundi, which featured the world-premiere recording of Rounds by composer John Williams; music from Bernstein's West Side Story; preludes by Brazil's Heitor Villa-Lobos; Granada by Mexico's Agustin Lara; and arrangements of traditional American bluegrass. He has since become the best-selling artist at Harmonia Mundi.
“Music is a social tool, and opening people’s hearts - and helping them connect to the inner life of their emotions - is my mission” – Pablo Sáinz Villegas
KDS is delighted to represent him in Europe plus Australia and New Zealand, partnering with his general management, CAMI Music.
