New Signing: Lucie Horsch

Konzertdirektion Schmid is pleased to announce the general management of seventeen year old flautist Lucie Horsch. The Dutch recorder player is one of the most remarkable musical talents of her generation, and already in great demand as a soloist in both her native Netherlands and internationally.

In 2016 Lucie was awarded the prestigious Concertgebouw Young Talent Award, in the presence of Sir John Eliot Gardiner. She was invited to perform in the Norsjø Chamber Music Festival in Norway and with the Manitoba Chamber Orchestra in Canada. She has also performed at the Early Music Festival in Innsbruck, Austria, the Next Generation Festival in Bad Ragaz, Switzerland, the Grachtenfestival Amsterdam, the International Chamber Music Festival Utrecht, the International Organ Festival Haarlem and the Flanders Festival in Ghent. In March 2017 she will be giving her US debut with the Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra.

Lucie records for the Decca Classics label. Her debut disc features concertos and transcriptions of works by Vivaldi, a composer with whom she feels a particular affinity. Being a proud ambassador of the recorder, Lucie is passionate to break down preconceptions, to experiment and to push boundaries. Besides performing the broad baroque repertoire for recorder, with conductor but also play directing, she enjoys performing contemporary repertoire.
