Francesco Angelico receives Austrian Opera Award 2016

Francesco Angelico, chief conductor of the Tiroler Landestheater in Innsbruck, was awarded the Golden Schikaneder in Vienna in the category of ‘Best Music Director’ for his production of Cilea's Adriana Lecouvreur.  Angelico, who will remain at the helm of the Tiroler Symphonieorchester until the end of the 2016/17 season, is a regular guest at the Bayerische Staatsoper in Munich and will give his Japanese debut in November this year with Rossini's "Il Barbiere di Siviglia" at the New National Theater in Tokyo. Angelico will make important guest appearances this season with orchestras such as the Leipzig Gewandhausorchester, SWR Symphonieorchester as well as Orchestre Philharmonique de Monte Carlo.
