07.02.2018

Cornelius Meister has won the International Classical Music Award in the category for symphonic music with his recording of the complete symphonies of Bohuslav Martinů. Released in October 2017 on the Capriccio label, the 3-CD box set Martinů: The Symphonies presents the live recordings made at the Konzerthaus in Vienna over a period of five years with the Vienna Radio Sympony Orchestra under the direction of Meister.

The jury chose their favourites in the category for symphonic music from 357 audio and video releases. Among the nominations were recordings by the Gewandhausorchester Leipzig with Andris Nelsons and the Staatskapelle Dresden with Christian Thielemann.
